When I interview an individual for a welding position, a positive attitude and personality are at the top of my list. Welding ability comes after that. However, we are a training workplace. Not every workplace does this. Many workplaces are the opposite, putting welding ability at the top.

Ideal candidates are those who aren't afraid to ask questions, yet can also work independently. Regardless of your level of expertise in a specific field, it's crucial to avoid the mindset that you already know everything. Paying attention to details, maintaining integrity, and showcasing technical skills can help you secure a position. Always be prepared to learn and put in the hard work. Also, be on time. Be there every day. And do some overtime.
