What do I need to be a teacher?
I want to know the needs in education and how long do I need to become a teacher? Like what is the future of teachers as AI or STEM are rising, will this effect the position of a teacher? What do I need to take in college and how long will that be if I want to do education related jobs.

Good afternoon, a teacher is writing to you, and I can give you some steps to follow. First of all, you must like teaching. Interaction and tolerance with people must be a quality that you must affirm, since you will find different kinds of students and many times you will have to explain the same subject. If you are clear about the previous point, the next step is to prepare yourself academically. If you like IT or science, you should study this technological or university degree and also specialise in Bachelor's degrees in education and pedagogy or related fields. Current teachers had to update themselves, many of them by force, to keep up with the new and interesting teaching tools, online classes, knowledge and management of AI and many others according to the field we teach and implement them in classes. New or future teachers within their university studies learn and know everything related to new information technologies. In addition, professionals must continually update themselves or else they will be left behind. The time to educate oneself and stay up to date with new technologies, in this as in any profession, is a lifetime. But you must start studying and practicing, this is the key, giving online classes, or doing internships you will gain the necessary experience to perform successfully as a teacher. A teacher's profession is beautiful, See you soon

Hi Jie,
You pose a good question and consider so many important variables!
First you will need to enroll in a college and take Liberal Arts classes toward a Bachelors degree. Different colleges have different concentrations depending upon the level you wish to teach (elementary, secondary, special ed.) so it is important to speak with the admissions people first, then the advisors to learn your path.
See some important steps below and I wish you success on your journey in becoming a teacher or work in the field of education. As far as AI? I cannot say what the future will hold. STEM careers are on the rise so if you are interested in studying math, science or technology there may be more options for your future.
Look into colleges that have majors leading to teacher education and certification.
Speak with admissions reps about specific paths to teaching and learn the admission process. Addend open house and other informational program where you can engage with students and faculty.s.
Ask good questions about practice teaching, student teaching, internships and the like.
Explore areas where there are teacher shortages--this may be better when you are in your second and third year of college as these areas change.
Talk with teachers you know and respect as they can give you insights on the field of education.
