Don’s Answer
Just be honest and tell them how you have prepared, and why you are interested in being an electrician. Do a little research on companies and know what kind of electrical work they do. Then find the one that interests you the most and share with them your desire to assist them in making them and you very successful. Tell them you would love to join them as an apprentice and learn the trade fully, so that you can build a fantastic future for yourself. Never stop learning, ask questions and work hard. Good Luck!

Donald’s Answer
I would add a few minor things that may be noticed by any potential employer.
Show up early for your interview and if you have a basic understanding of electricity, be prepared to realistically articulate what level of knowledge you currently have and as Don said, tell them why you want to do this kind of work. When you start working, keep showing up early. You will meet the people who are also early and have an opportunity to know them.
Dress appropriately for your interview and on the job. Do some research/observation and see what the electricians are wearing . Have proper foot gear on and wear clothes that show that you understand the environment of the workplace.
If you have related experience, bring it out at the interview. I had been an amateur radio operator and had a license and had a radio station. I was rewiring and repairing cars, anything that shows you have some practical work experience.
Have some questions. Is there an apprentice program, is there a union, where are the potential worksites. What are the benefits.
The more you engage with your employer, you'll give them a true picture of who you are, and you'll get to know if you will be comfortable working for them
Best of luck and work safe
