Hi Vivian,

I totally understand your aspirations to go to Harvard or Yale; many students share that dream, and with some strategic planning, you can make that a reality. One important aspect to consider is standardized tests. While some universities are moving towards test-optional policies, strong SAT or ACT scores can still enhance your application and demonstrate your academic readiness. Preparing well through prep courses or study groups can have a significant impact on your scores.

In addition, your personal statement is a critical element of your application. It’s your chance to share your story and what makes you unique beyond grades and test scores. Reflect on your experiences, challenges, and what you've learned from them. For example, if you faced adversity in your life, discussing how you overcame it can resonate with admissions committees looking for resilience and determination.

It's also essential to showcase your achievements and growth clearly. Instead of just listing activities on your application, highlight specific contributions you have made. If you've led a community service project, explain your role and the outcomes. Harvard and Yale value impact, so show them how you've made a difference.

Finally, don't forget about the interview. If you get one, think of it as an opportunity to tell your story more personally. Prepare by practicing common interview questions and ensuring you can talk comfortably about your passions and experiences.

The road to these prestigious universities is tough, but with careful planning and a focus on what makes you unique, you can significantly enhance your chances. Good luck on your journey! You’ve got this!
