This is a wonderful question whether or not you have or have not begun your special Modeling career !
Success in any field is strictly an individualized journey. Many times, as in a career for Modeling, success is not an achievement measured by fame and fortune, rather it can be knowing you have achieved with every project you work on. Feeling free of anxious feelings and giving every project that special something that only you can give.
As a model your best bet to obtain consistent work would be to have a portfolio showing a variety of looks, excellent communication and presentational skills, and network around the fashion industry. Do as many runway fashion shows as you can and seek out modeling agencies. Be willing, available and able to travel for work. Consider an acting class, too. Consider being in commercials, film and videos. Versatility as a Model is one thing that can determine that you'll work consistently and that is a sign of success.
As you move along, you will see first hand that you will need to do more than just one type of modeling. Expand your skills to photographic, television, video, extra/background work, live specialty modeling, and all of it . As you start to read modeling notices, you will see that Models do a lot of variety in all media and in person.
You can also learn skills that can be a plus, such as horseback riding, sports, swimming, etc. Many times they want models that have special skills. As long as you work daily on being prepared, you should have a satisfying and fun career, meeting the challenges and defining your own successes.
Making the commitment, having a wide range of talent and never giving up will lead you to your own personal success !
