Hey Roman! So, I'm not in security myself, but I’ve got a buddy who is, and here's the inside scoop straight from him.
Security is all about keeping people safe and making sure everything runs smoothly. It’s a job that can feel like you’re part of the backstage crew in a big action movie—you might not be in the spotlight, but you’re the one making sure everything stays in check! 🎬🎯
Here's why my buddy loves it:
1. Constant Action: You’re never just sitting around, waiting for something to happen. Whether you're checking cameras, patrolling, or just being that calm, collected presence, there’s always something to keep you engaged. It's like mini missions every day. 💥
2. Good Vibes Helping People: You get to play an important role in making sure everyone feels safe, and that gives a big sense of purpose. It’s a great way to feel like you’re contributing to the greater good while still having your independence. It’s like being the unsung hero in every scenario. 🦸♂️
3. Job Flexibility & Growth: Security has tons of paths—from working in events to high-level positions like security management. You can keep climbing if you want, or even get into specialized areas like cyber security (yep, it's part of the family!). So, it’s not just a job, it’s a career path with room to grow! 🚀
4. Cool Perks: Sometimes you get to work in cool locations, like stadiums, offices, or even concerts! If you're into that kind of thing, it’s like getting paid to hang out at events. 🎤🍿
So, Roman, if you’re thinking about it, just know that security could be a solid career option. It offers stability, opportunities to grow, and a chance to be a real-life protector. And, who doesn’t want to be the person everyone can count on? 😎
Good luck with whatever path you choose, and keep the positive vibes going!

Over the last 20 years we've become ever more dependent on technology to manage and run our lives. Bad actors have seen this as an opportunity, putting us at ever greater risk of being hacked, bullied or otherwise taken advantage of online. AI increases this risk as we're removing humans and (potentially) critical thinking from the equation. All this means that security will continue to gain in importance, and good security people will always be in high demand.
Having said that, I don't think you need to be super technical to go into the security field. The key is to be curious and an avid learner. The field continues to emerge, there will always be something to learn.
