Hey there this should help
Bakery is a rewarding career, but it comes with challenges. Early mornings and odd hours, physically demanding work, stress, low starting pay, limited time for holidays, health risks, and creativity limitations are some of the challenges.
1. Early mornings and odd hours can disrupt sleep patterns and social life, especially if not a morning person.
2. Physically demanding work involves standing for long hours, lifting heavy flour bags, and repetitive motions like kneading dough. Over time, this can lead to fatigue, back pain, or joint strain.
3. Stress and pressure to deliver consistent, high-quality products on tight deadlines can lead to mistakes and overwhelm during busy seasons.
4. Low starting pay for entry-level bakers, and owning a bakery can increase earnings but also presents risks and challenges.
5. Limited time for holidays and health risks due to exposure to flour dust, hot ovens, and sharp tools.
6. Creativity can be limited in larger bakeries or under strict recipes.
Despite these challenges, many bakers find joy in their craft, the smell of fresh bread, the satisfaction of creating beautiful products, and making customers happy. If passionate about baking and prepared for the hard work, it can still be a rewarding path.

I agree with Bright's answer. The days are long and physically challenging. However, if you love what you do, it can be heaven. I love the smell of yeast and working with dough. The reward of a recipe well made is often counter balanced with something going wrong and the need to toss valuable ingredients.
As with any career, make sure it is something you love to do. Every job is hard work but, if you have a passion for baking it will be well worth it.

Hey Joci, baking is a blast but it's not all cupcakes and rainbows! Here are a few of the less fun bits 😱.
Early Mornings & Long Hours: Prepping dough and ingredients often means getting up before the sun.
😓 Physical Strain: Standing for hours in a hot kitchen can be exhausting.
🔥 Kitchen Heat: Constant exposure to high temperatures is no joke.
🧼 Endless Cleanup: The magic happens in the kitchen, but then comes the not-so-glamorous mess.
Pressure & Perfection: One tiny mistake can throw off an entire batch, adding stress to the creative process.
Even with these challenges, if you love the art of baking, the passion makes it all worthwhile!
So, Joci, if you love to do it then not even I can stop you... Nah... Ofcourse not uhum. Baking has its tough spots, but there’s plenty of sweet stuff too! Like how it tastes so yummy🤤🥰.... Uh right, so, here are some lil’ something to keep your baking dreams rising, my tummy is growling for some too!
Creative Freedom: You get to experiment with flavors, designs, and make edible art—your kitchen = your canvas!
🎉 Sharing the Joy: Nothing beats the smiles when people taste your treats. You’re basically spreading happiness one bite at a time.
💪 Skill Glow-Up: Every bake makes you better—whether it’s mastering the perfect crust or nailing that fancy frosting swirl.
Sweet Side Hustle: Your baking hobby could turn into a fun (and tasty) money-maker. Cha-ching! 💵
🥳 Personal Satisfaction: Few things feel as good as pulling a perfect batch out of the oven—chef’s kiss!
✨ Keep this in mind that, Every great baker started somewhere—messes and all. The tough parts make your wins even sweeter. Keep mixing, keep dreaming, and let those ovens work their magic! 💖👩🍳
