Hey, it's you again, Darius! What's up, buddy?
First off, love seeing you back with more questions. That tells me you're serious about figuring out your next move. And honestly? That's half the battle right there.
Now, you're asking about carpentry vs. electrical — two trades that literally build the world around us. Both can give you a solid career, good money, and the kind of job where you clock out at the end of the day feeling like you actually did something real.

Alright so, Here's how I see it:
Carpentry is for the hands.
If you're the kind of person who likes making something out of nothing, working with wood will give you a whole new respect for the world. It's creative, it's gritty, and every piece you build has your fingerprint on it. But it's also a long game — it takes years to really master the craft. If you love the idea of leaving behind something solid that might outlive you... carpentry might be calling your name.

Electrical is for the mind.
Electricians are the ones who bring things to life. It’s problem-solving, it's precision, and honestly? It pays really good money — especially if you go into more technical stuff like fire alarms, security systems, or smart homes. Plus, there's always work for electricians — rain or shine, summer or winter.

Here's the kicker:
The world needs both.

The difference is... what kind of satisfaction do you want at the end of the day?
Do you want to step back and say, "I built that with my own two hands"?
Or do you want to flip a switch and think, "I made that whole thing come to life"?

If you're still stuck between the two — try both. Job Corps might even have intro classes for both trades. You don't have to marry your choice right now — just date a few trades, see which one makes you feel alive.

Either way, here's the secret sauce to any trade:

Show up every day — even when you're tired

Ask the old-timers for advice (they love passing down wisdom if you show respect)

Keep your tools sharp and your mind sharper

Stay humble, stay curious

And if anyone ever tells you one trade is better than the other... just remember:
The carpenter builds the house, but the electrician makes sure the lights stay on.

You've got the fire, Darius — now all you've got to do is find out what kind of sparks you're trying to make.
I'm rooting for you, all the best.

I am an electrician by trade and I really enjoy it. There are so many directions you can go. I did my apprenticeship and got my journeyman license doing commercial/industrial work. I then found that I liked working with fire alarm and door access. I then became a security systems installer then programmer and project manager. I am now the Security and Access Coordinator for a University and I spend more of my time programming and maintaining servers and network equipment than I do physically working on the systems. I find it extremely interesting and rewarding. My advice is to specialize in more technical aspects of whatever trade you go into. Become more technical and skilled to make yourself more valuable.
