Oh, And Seriously, No worries—asking questions is how you figure things out. And honestly, your plan makes a lot of sense. If you're not sure about college yet, working first can be a great way to explore your interests and gain experience.
Is Working Before College a Good Idea?
Yes! A gap year (or more) can help you build skills, travel, and earn money while you figure things out. Plus, college will always be there if you decide to go later. I have taken a gap year as well so it can help you figure out things easily when you are not.
Basically, Since you love traveling, blogging, and YouTubing, your best options are flexible, creative, and remote-friendly jobs.
Alexandra M. S– She suggested that if you love exploring, cultures, or meeting people, you might enjoy studying environmental studies, social sciences, or public administration. That’s solid advice—if you do go to college, pick something that connects with what you love. But for now, let’s talk about jobs you can do right away to get experience.
So to Start Working & Earning Money at the moment.....
1. Freelancing & Online Work (Best for Travel)
Freelance Writing – Get paid for blogs or travel articles on sites like Upwork, Fiverr, or Medium’s Partner Program.
YouTube & Social Media – Keep making videos! It takes time to earn, but YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram Reels grow fast.
Remote Customer Support – Companies hire people to work from anywhere. Try sites like We Work Remotely or Remote.co.
Teaching English Online – If you're fluent, sites like Preply or Cambly pay well.
2. Travel-Based Jobs (Earn While Moving)
Work in Hostels & Resorts – Many offer free accommodation in exchange for work (check Worldpackers or Workaway).
Tour Guide or Travel Assistant – If you like meeting people, guiding tours can be fun.
Photography & Videography – Sell travel photos/videos on Shutterstock, Adobe Stock, or EyeEm.
3. Internships & Gap Year Programs
NGO Volunteering – Get experience in media, marketing, or event planning.
Work Abroad Programs – Some countries offer temporary work visas for young travelers.
Should You Go to College Later?
If you find a career path that works without a degree, you might not need it. But if you ever decide to go:
Love storytelling? → Journalism, Media, or Communications.
Love digital work? → Marketing, Film, or Business.
Want a flexible degree? → Online or part-time programs.
Remember man....
No rush—you’re young, explore and figure it out.
Start small—freelancing or part-time jobs let you test different things.
Document your journey—it could turn into your career.
You're doing great by asking, Tiger. Now go chase those adventures!

Below are my suggestions:
1. Think about what you have interest, eg your hobbies, favourite subjects, etc and identify the related careers
Eg if you like music, would you like to be a musician, singer, musical artist, music composer, music producer, etc
If you have interest in maths, would you like to be an accountant, engineer, banker, financial analyst, maths teacher, etc
2. Find out more on these careers and determine what you have interest
3. Speak to someone who are working in these careers. Seek guidance from your mentor, school career counselor, your parents, etc
4. Shortlist 1-2 careers you would like to pursue.
5. Explore any opportunities to work in the industry. And, explore the entry criteria of relevant subjects in colleges
Hope this helps! Good luck!
May Almighty God bless you!

Please feel welcome to ask as many questions as you want!
I think that working instead of attending college, with the intent of saving money, gaining experience and a sense of direction is a great idea.
You should look for entry level jobs that you should look for should mirror your personal interests, or a career that you know would enjoy. By finding an entry level position now, you could leverage that role and continue working there while attending college so that you can apply what you've learned in class to the real-world immediately.
Another good thing about working an entry position before college is that once you graduate, there is a chance that you could just climb up the ladder internally at a company that you are already very comfortable working for.
