In order to stand out you need to be yourself. Fuel your own passion and have goals.
Most important skills for any carrer are those that center around fellow human beings. These include communication skills, talk to your colleagues and customers in appropriate manner. Let all feel dignified when dealing with you. Write reports and brief others on what's happening. Dress in your comfortable attire even if it is an uniform.
Another thing be ready to learn and change your mind based on evidence. Respect others opinions. Other skills can be learned on job or in school.

Hi Laura,
In any medical field, being a good diagnostician and good bedside manners make you stand out. Being a good diagnostitian requires your knowledge from medical school and residency as well as experience. Good bedside manners consist of good communication skills, good teamwork, empathy, the ability to take time and listen if necessary and the will to take the patient seriously and make them feel welcome and seen. Keep in mind that for many families you will share one of the happiest days in their lives, but for others you share in a tragedy. In all cases you play a role in very intimate moments.
Since your question was translated from Spanish, I assume you are a native Spanish-speaker? You could also stand out by providing services to the Spanish-speaking population.
I hope this helps! All the best to you!
