Hi Sanya,

It's great that you're focusing on career goals now, as setting and revisiting them is crucial throughout your life. Start by identifying your immediate career goals. Consider what activities you enjoy. Do you like helping others? Which subjects interest you? This will help you pinpoint your interests. Also, speak with your school counselor and take the Myers-Briggs test. Think about what professional tasks you love doing daily.

Remember, your career path might evolve. I have degrees in Engineering and Law and worked in research and litigation for seven years. Both roles were different but rewarding in their own ways, contributing to my skills and career growth. The era of one job for 40+ years is mostly over, but you can still find a career you love or explore multiple paths like I did. Balance your goals with your finances. You don't need the most expensive school to succeed, but further education beyond high school is important, whether through trade school or college. Look into scholarships, programs, and jobs that offer tuition assistance. Consider the military as they also support education funding.

Good luck! Stay flexible, work hard, and enjoy the path towards your goals.

Great question! Now I have questions. What do you like to do? Do you like working with people, being outdoors or indoors, working with your hands, working with your mind, and what hobbies do you currently have that align with any of those things? Next question: Where do you want to work, the city, state or country will determine what the job market is for that area. You dont want to get training for a job, that there isnt a need for in a particular location. Last question: Who do you know? Networking is a great way to find a job, but also a great way to find out about a particular career field. Do you have any friends or relatives in a particular career you are interested in? Ask them about it and find out if you would be interested in doing that job as a career. Lastly, find joy in everything and you will be far less frustrated in life. If you are eager to learn and take pride in doing the best job with every task you are asked to do in a job, you will always do well. Stay focused and dont follow any negative influences and you will do well.
