How should I go about studying for an architecture major before I enter college?

I am going into architecture at ISU and have very little experience with studying because high-school hasn't been to challenging for me. I would appreciate math focused study instructions because it's my weakest subject. Thanks.

Make sure to have the basics covered, like forms, character, and image even if youre far advanced, make sure to come back and have these concepts locked down theyre so important for you to DESIGN, they are your tools as a designer. However, as a professional in the construction field you need to know technical drawing, presentation and communication skills are very important, how you speak and present something are so so important to master, and lastly knowing construction regulations where you live or want to work is so important, without it you will lose time trying to learn it to keep up with the work and others and you will look very unseasoned, just do yourself a favor and learn them even if you dont agree with them, you need to know them if you want to work as an architect. Have fun and be as creative as you can in briging new creative buildings to life that have CHARACTER or prolonging the life of existing building and enriching their existing character.

Henry’s Answer

Hi Daniel,

Architecture is more than just following instructions, though some people do that too. At your local college, you'll take classes in physics, mechanics, and reactions, which cover the math you need. You'll also learn to build models, draw, and create presentation materials. There's a lot more to explore with an education in architecture.
