How can I make a difference within the product development field?

I'm going to college this fall to major in food science, and I'm excited! But I'm also apprehensive about the impact I can make. The food industry in America needs a lot of help, and I want to work towards bettering our methods, ingredients, and packaging, for example, banning the use of unnatural food dyes. How can I make a difference when so much needs to be done, but I'm just one person? #Spring25

To make food better, it's important to learn how modern farming and worldwide production affect nature. There's a lot to discover in integrated food systems, which could be a new way to produce food sustainably. Keep exploring and good luck!

Hi,
Food Science sounds exciting. I'd suggest seeking a position with the FDA. The Food and Drug Administration is the entity that set the standards for the food in the United States.
You may think about obtaining an internship at your local health department, as well.
