How can I network and stand out in the interview process to land my dream job?

I have met so many great mentors that have helped me in High School to get part-time jobs, but I know when it's time to really find a career. I don't know how to find the right place to intern or where to network to help me find my dream job.

Hi Madison,
That’s a really good question, and it’s great that you’re already thinking ahead. The fact that you’ve built strong relationships with mentors in high school shows you already know how to connect with people, which is a big part of networking.

In college, try getting involved with clubs, events, or organizations related to your interests. These are great places to meet people, learn more about your field, and find out about internships. Don’t be afraid to introduce yourself, ask questions, or follow up with someone after a conversation. A small connection can lead to something much bigger.

For interviews, focus on being confident, prepared, and yourself. Do your research on the company, be clear about why you’re interested, and show how your experience and personality make you a good fit. Even if you don’t have a lot of experience yet, showing that you’re motivated and willing to learn really stands out.

Also, stay in touch with your mentors from high school. They might have connections or advice that can help you take the next step. You don’t have to figure it all out at once. Just keep showing up, learning, and putting yourself out there. It all adds up over time.

Hope this helps!
