I'm a junior living in the county of San Diego I'm unsure about what to do, but I'm leaning towards pediatrics. Anyways I wanted to know if there is a University near here where I can study for this field?

I don't know anyone who has gone to college/university so I'm absolutely clueless as to how it works, what I should do now in highschool, how to get my classes afterwards for college, etc.
right now I'm taking
AP spanish language
AP US history
AP English language and comp
AP environmental science
And integrated math 3 #doctor #medicine #pediatrics #help #undecided

If your program offers these courses, I'd say stay busy during Senior Year and take:

AP Calculus
AP Biology
AP Physics
AP Chemistry
Statistics
Psychology
or
Finance, Economics

Medicine will entail passing some of the above subjects whereas a couple of them are linked to exercising your quantitative neural pathways.

I think that it is fantastic that you are taking History, Spanish and English at the AP level. The Humanities constitute a useful foundation for a career that requires understanding and empathy.

Stay Well, Hydrated, Get enough sleep and keep up the Great Work! I'm rooting for you.

Congrats! That is a very tough schedule you have picked out, but it will serve you well in college. Any 4 year college will give you the classes you need to apply to medical school. No specific program is necessary.

Rachel’s Answer

Any 4 year university should be able to provide you with all of the premed requirements (1 year biology, 1 year inorganic chemistry, 1 year organic chemistry + labs, physics, calculus, and biochemistry). I would look at each school individually and see which fits your personality and desired major (does not have to be science) best.
