What's the best thing about attending Boston University?

I'm thinking of going to Boston University in the future to study Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, but i'm still having doubts about my choice . What other Colleges or Universities are good for studying Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice that really focus on Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice. #criminal-justice #law #police #Detective.

Hello Galicia.  I did some internet research and there are a lot of good websites that allow you to research the criminal justice/law enforcement degrees available at various colleges.  Here are some:

https://www.criminaljusticedegreeschools.com/

https://study.com/articles/Top_Schools_for_Criminal_Justice_Law_Enforcement_and_Corrections_Programs.html

https://www.criminaljusticedegreehub.com/top-law-enforcement-degree-programs/

https://www.bestvalueschools.com/rankings/colleges-criminal-justice-degrees/

By searching sites such as these you can get an idea of the schools you might be interested in.  You can do further research on the websites of the schools to get more information about their programs.  There may be Facebook pages for these schools where you can post questions about the criminal justice/law enforcement programs and receive input from current students.

Jeanette recommends the following next steps:

Research the websites listed above to learn more about criminal justice/law enforcement programs offered at various schools.
Make a list of the schools that appeal the most to you then get on the website of each school to find out more about their criminal justice/law enforcement programs.
Research Facebook to see if there are Facebook pages for the schools you are interested in. Post inquiries about the criminal justice/law enforcement programs to get feedback from students.
If your school has a job shadowing day or program look into job shadowing someone who works in the criminal justice/law enforcement field.
Research the websites of various types of law enforcement agencies to get more information about various job positions and the job qualifications and career opportunities. 6. Look into opportunities to do an internship a law enforcment agency.

Dylan’s Answer

Hello Galicia,

As an alumni of Boston University, I have only heard good things about the Criminal Law program at Boston University. However, I did not study that at the school.

Other than that I really have only good things to say about Boston University. Great area, great people, and great professors. You are in one of the greatest cities in the country and there is always things to do in the area. Also Boston University is not a huge sport school but there is always sports going on for you to go to and the competition is always good (especially hockey). Also the student population is extremely diverse which is great and I met some really great friends from all over the world at the school.

Only bad things I have to say about the school is that it can get extremely cold in Boston at the height of the winter. Other than that it is a great school!

Chiara’s Answer

Hi there!

I attended Boston University for graduate school and I absolutely loved it! I can't speak to your major in particular, but my professors were all experts in the topics they taught, and provided valuable connections to the "real world" for after school.

The campus is also really exciting. It has tons of cool amenities that you would expect from a large private school (top notch gym, best equipment/facilities) , but it's also in the middle of a great city that you can spend time exploring.

Chiara recommends the following next steps:

Reach out to some professors in your program of interest for more information
Take a tour (or virtual tour) of the campus

Hello Galicia,

If you're seeking an undergraduate experience, you might need to consider other options. This is because only business law is provided at the undergraduate level here. However, Harvard, a remarkable academic institution, is conveniently located just across the water.
