Victoria’s Answer

Hi Yessica,

The most challenging part of Forensic Science is that this field is constantly changing, but that is what makes it so exciting!

Forensics includes the physical sciences as well as computer sciences. You can get a solid background in one or both. What are you interested in?

My experience is in digital forensics which is a branch of computer science.

Maybe consider looking at SANS institute (google SANS website) to see if you like computers and computer forensics.

Victoria recommends the following next steps:

Visit SANS website
Determine if you like computers or if you like physical science: things like chemistry, math, biology
Let me know what you find the most interesting

Hello. What could be challenging for most is dealing with what yu see on a daily basis. If you are out in the field and going on scenes then you see the very nature of crime from burglaries to death. You have to find a way to deal with that or you will not last long in this field. Finding people to talk to is very helpful. Makin sure you take care of your mental as well as your physical are important.
