Sherrie’s Answer

I think as with any position you can broaden your position by expanding your knowledge. Additional education accompanied with experience can lead to additional opportunities with the banking industry. A teller position could be considered an entry level position, one which you can build upon to advance. There are many educational avenues that offer specific classes in banking/finance. I recommend you explore your options. As they say Knowledge is Power!

E. C’s Answer

Dear Johnathan,

I don't know exactly how it will profit a bank teller but the process of receiving instruction within a body of knowledge is guaranteed to benefit all human beings in this space of time called life. Who knows if you will be a bank teller for 30 years? But one thing that is guaranteed is opportunity will always present itself in due season and in order to tackle it you will need instruction, data, skills, experience and good judgement which are the benefits of furthering your education. Look at it like this when you graduate elementary school you are given a pocket knife , high school a dagger and college gives you a sword now if you want that sword to stay sharp or get an axe ; in order to hunt to clothe and feed yourself you need to keep it sharpened with schooling. I wish you the best on your journey.
