How do you decide what career you want to do in the future ?
I'm a High School student, and I am undecided on what I want to do in the future, however I really love animals and ever since I was little I wanted to be a veterinarian. But as I was growing up I was interested in being an entertainment lawyer and work with the big names in the music industry. However, I am very passionate when it comes to animals and it would make me happy in the future that I am finally taking care of animals. But with the lawyer decision, people always tell me I need to be a lawyer because i'm always debating with someone about something. I am not 100% on what I want to do as a career. #college #science #law #undecided

Hi Vania:
I have found it is always better to follow your passion in life that to try to fit into a someone else's vision of what they think you should be or do. If you passion is truly animals, then in the long run you will likely be happier if you pursue that area. Of course there may be ways to satisfy your love for animals and also pursue a career in law. Perhaps you become a lawyer that specializes in protection of animals.
Enjoy the Journey!

I was the told the same thing about being a lawyer! I also liked working with animals and chose that direction, as that is something I am passionate about. I did take some law classes in school since that was something that interested me, and as someone else mentioned, you could always be a lawyer that works with animals through environmental law or protection of animals from abuse. Find a variety of places to volunteer and take different classes to see what you really find interesting - you will find something that you will want to make into your career!
