Nick’s Answer

You will be installing what a client wants. But before hand the artist part on your end could go as far as making suggestion and layout designs such as brick pattern or what not and maybe even color. From the start the client knows what they want but if you have good design skills you can offer them something that havnt thought of before that better for there needs. Keep in mind their budget and what works best for that room or idea your working in.

Misty’s Answer

Benjamin,

Great question. Alot of times, it depends on what you are doing with the tiles as to whether or not it is your idea or the customer. In my experience, (ex husband was a general contractor), customers already have a pretty good idea of what they want and what type of tile they want to use for the project they want completed. It really all depends on the type of job that you are completing as to what type of artistic freedom you are going to be able to use on these types of jobs and projects.

Thank you comment icon Thank you, I'm not that artistic but if they have deigns in mind I'd like to make it come true. Benjamin
Thank you comment icon That is going to make you a great businessman! Sometimes there are computer programs you can use to help you get the layout right. Sounds like you are going to be great at customer satisfaction. Great job. Misty Miller
