A career in culinary arts is a great way to surround yourself with creative, motivated, and independent people
The restaurant industry is filled with incredibly talented individuals, having said this , Chefs job or the 'Hotel Industry' comes with inconsistent schedule which is stressful as its physically demanding to work for long hours & gruelling shifts.
On the bright side you explore lot of cuisines of this world and get more creative ,end of the day you can work for yourself.
I personally love this culinary art and its vast opprtunity to create some lovely unique dishes .
I have chosen a diiferent field altogether though :)

Hi Sofia,
Personally I love cooking and as and Italian American there is a lot of food in my household! When I was younger, I thought about this career, however, I decided to pursue accounting/finance and am glad I did. On average the return on investment out of culinary school is not as high, however I still believe should pursue your passion because you can be successful. Later in life I would like to open up a restaurant and could because my career has put me in a good financial position. I wish you best of luck on your decision.

The toughest thing about becoming a cullinary professional is the stress related to the job. It often requires a lot of hours and hard work, and can result in short careers based on a fast turnover rate. Definitely if you have the passion to pursue it, and the stomach to handle the stress, it can be an amazing career.
