What are the welding certifications offered in Advanced Training?
Hello, my name is Anahi. I am currently a student in Job Corps, getting my basic welding certifications. I am 18 years old with approximately 5 years of welding experience. I am not sure if going into Advanced Training is the best choice for me.

I can't answer your question but I just wanted to chime in with some encouragement. The fact that you are so young and have that amount of experience is a testament to where you and your career are going. The trades are becoming hard to find professionals in and welding is such a skill that most people do not appreciate nor understand. I used to weld some basic stuff in my dad's mechanic shop so I have seen the skills upclose by the real mechanics. Keep it up and keep getting any certs you can get. You will be in high demand and make lots of dough because of it. Enjoy the ride.

Most places I’ve been to require a test upon hiring. The only time I’ve seen “certifications” used is if you are union and traveling. At our shop you are given several weld tests prior to hiring then once hired you have to pass a weld test that is cut and bent.
