Hi Jordan R. I see that you posted this question a little while ago so I hope my answer to you (or others who may read this response) is still helpful.

For sure, some personal attributes that are essential include a love of continuous learning, determination and a willingness to keep an open mind ("thinking outside the box") when trying to solve problems. Seek problems to solve and be proactive about finding ways to do things better. This is a highly respected approach that can move individuals into being thought leaders.

As for having a creative side, that is awesome!! Many engineers and/or people who work in technology use creativity to be successful in their work. Web design, graphic art, game development, data visualization...these are just a handful of spaces that I believe allows a strong combination of engineering skills and creative elements.

Hope you find this information helpful. Best of luck to you!
