One of the advantages of America is that we have a variety of ethnic and regional cuisines available to us.
If you have access to Netflix, I highly recommend shows like Chef's Table and Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown.
Books, as well - not just ones that offer recipes we find appealing, but which talk about the cuisines and cultures, everything from 'My Mexico' by Diana Kennedy to 'The Seventh Daughter' by Cecilia Chiang.
Explore your hometown or a nearby city. Eat someplace you haven't tried before.
Find a cookbook that centers on a cuisine of interest, preferably one that talks about the culture as well as the food.
