Dear Bhanupriya,

Very good that you are thinking long term on your goals and then choosing the subjects. For pursuing a career in Information Technology, Science and Maths are helpful. Till 10th standard you will be studying all the subjects of science, from 11th standard you can select Physics Chemistry Maths and also Computer Science if that is an option. They should start helping you build the foundation for your future. You should also start learning some programming by resources available on the internet to gauge your interest in the field. Am sure you will come up with the right choices. All the best

Hi
You should focus on Mathamatics + Computer Science subject in 10th and further, As you go in 11th, you should select the Non-Medical field in which PCM are mandatory and in the optional subjects, you can take Computer.

Hi Bhanupriya,
Its interesting to choose and stick to the decision so early.
I also agrees with other answers you should definitely have maths, science and English. Which might be compulsory upto the 10th.
After 10th when you go for 11th 12th or diploma you can choose to keep Physics ,mathematics ,chemistry group and if your college permits you can choose optional computer science or IT course.
Meanwhile you can self learn some basic programming using online platforms.

Nami’s Answer

Hi!

Kudos on knowing what you want to do in the future and even if things change, a good place to start would be Math, Science and English for your 11th and 12th standard (PCM + Comp Sci)
Keep up the good grades and ace your entrance exams, and before you know you'll be working toward your goal
All the best!
