Kate’s Answer

I just finished a grad program and most of my academic professors held PhDs while my clinical professors did not. Having just finished school, I have a new perspective on PhDs versus MS degrees. I appreciated learning the latest research from my professors that were specialized and considered experts in the field, but that didn't always translate to clinical practice/ or the reality of therapy. My other professors that had 30-35 years of experiences where JUST as knowledgable and relatable. So I would recommend looking for programs with professors that are established in their careers as well as PhD/ papers published

That depends on the school. For detailed information about programs you can check out http://www.asha.org/edFind/search.aspx which is the link to the list of over 300 institutions for Masters level programs for Speech Language Pathology.

The program I went to ALL teachers of our undergrad AND grad program held PHDs. The school had a policy where you had to hold a PHD to instruct. But not every school has that policy.

Mostly, some classes are taught by MS level individuals, mostly the clinical supervision, and some courses can be taught by PhD candidates.
