What major is the most compatible with the Architecture major to improve the architect career?
I'm currently an high school junior and I'm planning to be an architect.
I planned to take two majors to strengthen my future career prospects. Finance might be a compatible degree to the Architecture major but I'm not entirely sure about it. What secondary major is compatible with the Architecture major which would improve the architect career. #college-major #architecture #majors #architect #double-major #education-counselor

Architecture is a great field, congratulations for setting your goal. A double major is desirable and achievable, but may take extra time. Architecture school is usually very light on business or finance classes. If you eventually want to be in a management position or run your own company, these are great secondary areas of study. If you are more design focused, art history or fine arts are complimentary areas of study. A related field would be urban planning.
Some universities have double major programs for Master of Architecture and Master of Business Administration (MArch and MBA). Multiple majors enhance your career choices.
Best of luck to you.

Zee, when I went to college it was the architecture students who were up finishing projects at 1:00 AM. I really don’t know whether you’ll have time to double major unless you take an extra year to do it. Or more. If you decide that is an option for you, ask your college advisor and architecture professors what would enhance your degree. It will probably depend mostly upon your personal interests . For example, if you think you may want to own a firm, business management may make sense. Another interest may be landscape architecture, since that enhances buildings. There is usually no one right answer to what will add value to a degree because you are unique with your own talents and goals. College will help you focus those.
