I am a Junior and a home schooler trying to choose the right college. #college #engineer

Hey Andrew! Great question! I had this exact same question when I was applying to colleges. After going to college and getting jobs and comparing my experience with my peers at other Universities, the answer is quite complicated.
I think it really depends on what is the "best" to you. Do you care more about academics/research, school culture, job opportunities, or student organizations? All these factors contribute to what you think are the best. Here's a list of what US News ranks them at:

I think what's most important is what you value the most. Do you want to just be in a school that's all about academics and the social dynamic is not as good? Or do you want a college experience that is a bit richer on the social side and not as good academically? It really just depends but I don't think you can go wrong with any school, its mostly on what you make the most out of college. I've know students that went to schools not even in the top 100, but they still land great internships and do fine.
Good luck with your decision!

The best college to get an engineering degree is whichever college that you think you'd enjoy the most. While lists about the best value or the best engineering programs may help you narrow down the field, high ranking doesn't mean you will thrive at those schools.
I advise that you tour universities and talk to people who went to schools you are interested in to learn more about the programs, environments, and other factors that national rankings can't or don't take into account.
