You may look online for tutorials and potential groups related to your speciffic topic, Even some association in your contry or city that have practices as the ones you are looking for.

Reach out to Commercial Property Management companies. They have Engineers onsite that work on boilers. You might be able to do an internship with them or even shadow them for a day/week. Find out who the engineering contract is with and contact that company and let them know what you are interested in. See if they have programs to allow you to observe.
