Thank you for your question! Yes, there are classes that you can take that will align well with your chosen career field. When you get to college, you will first take prerequisite courses for the first two years. As a junior in college, You will choose your major focus (nursing). You will then have courses within your nursing program that will align you with all the courses needed to complete the requirements to become a nurse. You may even have an option to choose a specialty like pediatric nurse. There are many resources and program counselors that can help guide you along the way in college. I hope this helps! Good luck!

There are many things to consider and I would suggest researching various college nursing programs first. I also recommend reaching out to some of those programs to see if they offer any sort of mentoring program you may participate in. My niece now teaches in a university nursing program after spending 7+ years working as an ICU nurse, right out of college. She loves giving back through teaching and still works in ICU's, occasionally, as she wants to stay current on her "practical" experience.

You will still need to take prerequisite classes at any university, but if you can find a nurse mentor to help you navigate the practicality of nursing, you will benefit from that, as well.
All the best to you!
