What career can I have involving Chemistry?

I really liked learning about chemistry and want to find a career in it. Many have told me to go into a pharmaceutical career path, but it doesn't spark my interest. #college #science #professor #chemistry #chemist #class

HI there.

Chemistry is a huge area and it really depends which path you would like to go. Most important is to choose something you like, not what you can tolerate :)
Inorganic chemistry... filed for research of inorganic materials like superconductors, super-magnets, new materials with use in any sphere of life.
Organic chemistry... two main streams.. chemistry oil and plastics (possibility to work on new materials with various physical or chemical attributes with wide usage) and chemistry of food (substances usable within food industry as additives, enhancers, etc.)
Biochemistry... base for future work within pharmaceutics (drugs) , bio-medicine labs, forensics...

Hope this helps a bit. :)

Chemistry is a fantastic launching point for many careers. A solid foundation, and a scientific mindset can get you in the door to great many places, and in some unexpected ways. For instance, there are a lot of firms that sell scientific materials, chemicals, and chemical-based solutions for various industries. A lot of companies are looking for sales people to help them sell their scientific products. I know several people who earned their degrees in chemistry and went into sales careers immediately and we're very successful. A lot of people don't understand that a solid base in science can help you work in the myriad positions that support companies, whose products are scientific in nature.
