What age can you start working at a zoo?
I'm in 8th grade. I have a class called career and technology. My teacher is having us do a project by having us ask questions about our future jobs we would like to have. #anyone #career-options

The short answer is that it depends on the Zoo. Residing in Whitmore Lake, the closest Zoo to look into would be the Detroit Zoo.
If you're serious about a career in Zoology, I would suggest reaching out to discuss volunteer opportunities, and they will be able to provide you with the insight and experience toward your future career! I've included the link below to their volunteer program. Hope this helps!

Hi Sydnee,
Age requirements to work at the zoo vary depending on location and type of job. I would suggest contacting the location to find out the specific requirement.
For example, to volunteer at the Detroit Zoo - you have to be between 14-17 years old. (link: https://detroitzoo.org/support/volunteer/)
Additionally, as an example, to work as a guest relations assistant at the Detroit Zoo - you have to be at least 17 years old.
Good luck.
