Hi, great question!
I recommend utilizing social media to put yourself out there. Contact local modeling agencies and start developing a portfolio. Use LinkedIn to connect with agents in your area.
Remember, be confident!
Best of luck.

Hi, Ahmad!
It's so great that you have such a cool ambition . The modeling industry is no longer as simple as getting signed to a certain agency and then getting jobs from there. Although this could be the case, nowadays, it is more common to start as a professional model through being an influencer. This means utilizing social media. If I were just starting out now, I would start by painting myself as a professional model on my social media pages. Get really quality pictures, first and foremost! Often times, you can find photographers who need to build their portfolios and are willing to do free photoshoots. Look for them through modeling, acting, or arts Facebook/ social media groups and pages! Posting quality content (and posting at least 1-2 times per week) is very important. When posting, use hashtags! Use hashtags pertaining to modeling, fashion, out of the day, etc. You may even start to come across brand deals, or companies that will want you to post wearing their company's products on your page. I see a lot of influencers/ models doing this nowadays. Once you have very professional photos (and professional headshots, specifically), you can start reaching out to agencies. Giving your career an initial push and investment could be scary, but it is absolutely necessary if you want to start a serious career. I hope this helps! Best of luck on all of your endeavors :)

Hi Ahmad, I was a professional model with representation in NYC, Paris and Milan. It's a tough, tough, tough industry, but if you can catch a break to get your foot in the door, it's unbelievably fun and for me, gave me some of the best memories that I look back on. I was "discovered" on the street in Toronto by a photographer and then two weeks later I was in Milan, but that's rare. First, ask yourself some questions... are you better suited to be an editorial model or commercial model. Some folks can do both, but some are better suited towards one or the other. Next, you need to build a "book" (aka portfolio). It can start with friends who are good with taking pictures, but at some point you'll need a professional. This can get very expensive, so start small. Then, the next step is critical - finding representation. Do your homework to identify model agencies and then work to set up meetings. Expect rejection and it's something you'll need thick skin to deal with - even though it's personal, it's business to them. If you're lucky enough to get signed beware of agencies who ask you for money - those aren't the reputable ones. The purpose of an agent is to find you work and help you to make money. Lastly, if you find yourself in a position where you have representation and are getting paid work, stay professional and enjoy the journey. Best of luck!
