what kind of part time job should i take if im 16

i want cash #general

Thank you comment icon It depends on really what you want to do. My first recommendation is that in certain state at age 16, you would need get permission filled out to work at certain jobs, so do get that permission. For a 16 year old, jobs can range from working at a supermarket, restaurant, babysitting, municipality related jobs. I suggest making a LinkedIn page since it can open up your mind to jobs you never thought possible of getting at your age. Good luck with your search, and hope you make that green! James

I definitely love your ambition. When I was 16 I took a position in grocery retail. The good thing about it is I leveraged the opportunity to learn about business and understand how everything worked. Whatever you decide to do share with the management team you desire to learn the business.

Try to think of something that would benefit your career in the future. For example, if you want to start a business in the future, work as an employee within a similar business. It would help you a lot in avoiding issues and ramping up your learning curve.

This is the perfect time to try out different jobs, see what you like and maybe will open up a lead to a career path. Of course there are always the standards, restaurants, super markets, retail stores, etc. Why not consider looking into trade work, landscaping, hvac, carpentry, etc. Many of those companies have entry level opportunities. Some can take you on later as apprentice and the money is good.

Whatever sounds interesting to you! If it calls to you, try it out. If the job doesn't turn out to great, at least you learned some things. Sometimes just learning what you Don't like is enough. And if you go after jobs that sound interesting to you, you could end up on a path to a lifelong passion. Best of luck to you!
