A great book called "The Best Story Wins" by Matthew Luhn that can help inspire you to understand the power of storytelling and animation (Matthew worked at Pixar)

Pre’s Answer

Hi Samuel, hope you are doing well.
While you wait to finish your 12th grade, I'd recommend you enroll for some renowned animation classes which will help enhance your skills.
Post completion of 12th grade, look to get admitted in good animation colleges.
Few of them are:
1. National Institute of Film and Fine Arts, Kolkata
2. St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Kolkata
3. Whistling Woods International Institute (WWII), Mumbai

Good luck!

Menna’s Answer

An animator's education typically involves a bachelor's degree in computer animation, fine art, or graphic arts. They're expected to be creative and artistic, with communication and time management skills. They must also have computer expertise and the ability to use animation and video editing software.

Shane’s Answer

Besides basic animation courses, I would also look into motion art or anatomy art classes. It's very beneficial in animation to understand how a body moves(both human and Bipedal) and what goes into a human form.

I would also suggest taking some Python scripting classes in school or online (Udemy or Youtube). As you get deeper into animation it helps to know how to make or run pre-built tools to quickly get repetitive tasks done so you can focus more on the detailed animation work needed on projects.

Terry’s Answer

Hello Samuel,

I would suggest you take any art classes offered since practicing your technique and craft is very important.

I also suggest that you take literature classes. This will feed your imagination. I have read the Mahabharata and the Ramayana, and I must say, the imagery in those texts is mind-blowing. Feed your soul, feed your imagination, and practice your craft and your will be very successful.

Best of luck!

Terry
