The duration of the M.Ch. degree is 3 years including the examination period. The examination for M.Ch. is held at the end of 3 academic years which include 6 academic terms. Master of Chirurgiae is equivalent of Doctor of Medicine (D.M.) when compared to M.S. (Master of Surgery) and M.D. (Doctor of Medicine), in terms of an advanced course.

Hi not sure if your medical license would transfer over to the United States that’s something you would have to check on the Medical Board website. If the US does recognize your medical degree you would then need to find a neurosurgery residency program to apply too. The spots are very competitive and only open one time a year and all the spots fill up on what’s called “match day”. If you are lucky enough to get excepted to a Neurosurgery Residency program then the Residency is 7-8 years the longest of all specialties. I know there are opportunities for foreign doctors to match to residency’s so you may want to research that on the AMA website. Good luck
