Hi David,
There is always a place for talent in Tech Industry and companies are looking for young graduates fresh out of college.
If you are a Computer science student in College, See few of my suggestions below that may help you:
1. Study your college subjects diligently. By subjects I mean, Object Oriented Programming Language, Data Structures and Algorithms, Operating System, Database, Networking, and so on.. Studying these subjects thoroughly will make your foundation strong.
2. Choose one Coding Platform, HackerRank, Leetcode (if your are a beginner), codechef (if you are already good at coding) and practise some coding. This will help you prepare for the Coding rounds you will face in Interviews.
3. Try writing pseudo code for some problems on these platforms. In Interviews, Interviewers may ask you to write code on paper.
4. Practise to improve your communication skills, this is a key factor in HR interviews.
5. Read some tech news to know about latest technologies and to keep yourself updated.
6. Make a profile on LinkedIn and Network with professionals, this will give you exposure to the Industry early on.
Relax and Enjoy your college, Don't miss out on College Life because that is what you will miss badly after college.

Concentrate on good grades, networking, and internships.
The networking and internships not only give you experience in the field, but also provide contacts within companies you may look forward to working for.

Hi David,
Keep up your grades, network within your college and try to work on internships. Real-world industry experience always helps in getting more jobs/pre-placement offers as well. Also try and work on side projects.
All the best!

HI David. Every year there are many students who complete the Engineering degree. While in college try to do some courses which add to your skill set. Keep checking with your senior friends as to which job is in demand and if it requires any additional courses to be learnt.
