I have worked with horses for 10 years now and I really want to pursue a career involving horses. What would be the best job (best salary, best job outlook, etc) in the horse field?

Like I said, I have been working with horse for about ten years now. I have always taken a special interest in all animals, but horses hold a special place in my heart. I am in high school currently and I am looking at my future career options. I want to do the best of the best jobs with horses. My questions are below.....
1) What career is the best choice long-term?
2) What career has the best outlook for jobs available?
3) What region or state would the most jobs be located in?
4) What job in the horse field makes the most money?
5) Are there any colleges the specify in horses? #veterinary #nutrition #genetics #equine #horses #financial-planning #career-details

Nanette’s Answer

Veterinary Medicine with Equine emphasis is your best choice. Focus on vet schools that have the better Equine hospitals. Certainly the mid west would be a good area. Fair warning it's not as easy as it looks so I would advise you to get experience at a large animal clinic in your area prior to applying to vet school so your sure it's for you.

I can't answer all your questions but I'll at least try to point you in the right direction.

Texas A&M has an equine facility. Here's information on what they have available:
