Most of the courses required for medicine and allied health professions will be in the physical and biological sciences. If these areas interest you it might be a good idea to pick a major which will allow you to take some of these required courses in the course of working toward your degree. These areas of study will allow you a good deal of flexibility in moving toward a career, whether or not you are aiming for a career in healthcare.
I am assuming here that you're not going to enter some of the special combined career programs that usually lead to a bachelor's and medical degree, usually in a condensed program. It is not rare however for a student to actually finish professional school (medical, dental, law) and eventually wind up in a quite different field (and do just fine!), so don't be afraid to try pre-med. Remember also that these fields are quite diverse. There are professionals in health-related fields who are clinicians treating patients, of course. But more than a few wind up in research, academia, industry, or even a combination of the above.
Good luck!

Typical premed majors like biology and biochemistry may have limited job opportunities without an advanced degree.
You can combine engineering, nursing, teaching, or business majors with premed.
