Elizabeth’s Answer

Top on my list in New York are Juilliard, The Manhattan School of Music, New York University, Mannes College - The New School for Music and The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. New York University has outstanding programs across many fields such as music business and technology, music education, performance, composition (among others), along with a robust academic curriculum. The others schools mentioned are conservatories, which generally place a higher emphasis on performance and practical training than academics. Each school has its own unique offerings and culture. All are excellent in their own regard. It all comes down to a good fit. When you find a school that fits YOU best, then THAT is the best school for you!

Good luck in your studies!

Most of my friends that have gone to music school in Boston went to Berklee and Boston Conservatory. I was not a music major, but I know the friends I did have that went there had great experiences!

Matthew’s Answer

I'm not a Music major myself, but I've came across Berklee/Boston Conservatory since I was a kid (family lived nearby)!

However, as a graduate of Northeastern University, I've had friends who went into Music Industry by majoring in Music/ Music Industry and through the school's co-op program!

Holly’s Answer

https://learn.fullsail.edu/music This specific college has what you are looking for for rap. They have mixing, recording studios, etc. However do not limit your choices if you are declined from one there are many others that will take FASFA that is funding for grants and loans. You want to apply asap if you are about to graduate high school. Going right to the college would be a reward for all the schooling you have done already. A college will take you. Even if it is a post secondary do not give up. Go for your dreams. You will have access to all the equipment you need an an opportunity to live the music world. This is what gets you in the door. Good luck.

Thank you comment icon Thank You once again Holly ! Defiantly looking into this school Kevin
