There are schools known for their artistic studies, but photography industry usually requires a portfolio. I first suggest you look into different genre of photography like street photography, portraited, wild life, sports, and landscape ... etc. After that, you can start to build you portfolio online. It can be as simple as using your phone and a dedicated Instagram account to start building your portfolio. When you are a bit more advance you can build your portfolio by creating a website and other platform.
There are also, many online classes and courses you can take to learn the basics of photography. Hope this helps

Hello Fatima. Obviously, you will need a good camera and know how to use your gear to produce images that will satisfy your paying clients. You will need a website showing only your best work. A website is your portfolio. I would suggest you explore the various genres of photography and find several that interest you. Then research photographers who are making a living shooting the images you are interested in. This will give you an idea of the quality of work you will need to produce.
Although a college degree in photography is not mandatory for most photography careers, I do recommend getting a degree. This can allow you to earn an income as you establish yourself as a photographer. An art degree is useful.
Becoming a photographer, like any profession, requires gathering knowledge and experience.
Good luck.

Hi Fatima,
I found this article very informative about Photography. You can check it out

There are programs you can take in school for that but I don't think it's a must. I know many photographers that don't have a degree and they're great ones. You can find all the knowledge needed online and just pick up your camera and do it. Social media is great place to show off your skills as well exploring different styles and inspiration.
Good luck!
