Choosing to pursue the Construction Management (CM) field - or a construction management related degree can be a fantastic career. I myself have been involved in construction management for the past 30+ years since graduating from college. Some highlights and things to think about:
1) in CM, you could end up working for a general contractor, directly for an Owner. An Owner could be a commercial developer, the Government, a Hospital, a major institution (like a university), major public or private corporations, even residential / housing, etc.
2) typically CM jobs can be and are usually higher than average pay.
3) CM related careers however do require hard work and dedication - many times more than a 40 hour work-week in reality.
4) CM field can be very rewarding as you can always look back at past projects and know you worked on them.
5) CM careers can lead to great self-employment opportunities, typically after gaining some years of experience working for others first.

Hi Ivan,
The role of CM can be very exciting. If you choose to do the work hands on or planning projects. I enjoyed being a part of watching and planning the telecommunication build. Construction has so many avenues not just building homes but also helping to build telecommunications gaps to the future. It can also be lucrative and you get to meet a lot of people in the industry.
