I work with Architects everyday they must be detail oriented and be willing to learn about how projects are managed. With that said, getting to problem solve and think creatively about solutions with other people can be extremely rewarding. I went to school for sculpture and could never have imagined how beneficial it would be to understand how things are built and what creates a quality experience for the people walking through a space you've helped design and build.
Check out the many differing types of architects and see which one fits your style: Structural, Interiors, Residential, and Buildings are just a few of the areas that people specialize in.

From what I've seen of architect friends, the work is gratifying to them since they love the creative and problem-solving aspects of the job. The schooling process is sometimes competitive and seems to me subjective like art--you have to present your designs and defend them against criticism. I know my friends spent many late nights in the studio working on projects, making models, etc. but there was camaraderie among the students.
Once working, you may have to deal with bosses with "personalities" since it is a creative field and offices are often small. Clients may also be demanding. I think the pay is moderate but respectable, unless you can become a "starchitect" working on high-profile jobs and starting your own practice.
In general, since they found a career well suited to them, architects are a satisfied bunch! (I'm not an architect, so hopefully one will answer this question with more authority!)
