David’s Answer

I would expect that most astronomers work in academic research. Their work involves a lot of physics and math, writing computer simulations to make predictions about the behavior of stars and other astronomical objects, and collecting and analyzing photos from telescopes to test their theories. Astronomers explore subjects like how stars form, how the insides of a star behave, and how stars are distributed within galaxies.
