What does it take to make Culinary arts worthwhile?
Since I was nine years old, I have been involved in the culinary arts. As a teenager, I worked in the kitchen of a few restaurants. Recently, I've wondered if Culinary Arts might be for me.

It takes Heart, Soul, determination, imagination and hard work.
My gut says if you have to ask that question then it's not for you.

Hi Dale! Thanks for your answer. I think you are right that this is a career that is passion-driven and not reward-driven. For the benefit of the Student, could you explain a little more? Did you always feel determined about becoming a chef, or did you overcome some uncertainty in the beginning? I think you would be an incredible resource in helping this Student figure out how they feel about this career. Thanks so much in advance!

Tyler’s Answer
Other than creating your own food, what makes the culinary field worthwhile is making your guests happy. To see them enjoy your food and create memories that they will remember.
Thank you for the advice, Tyler.
