I'm a final year student in BHSc in medical orthotics and prosthetics , looking at the currently unemployment rate in our field is so scary , how can one increases the chances of employment , especially the ones to work in other countries where Orthotists and prosthetists are in demand ?

If you have the opportunity to volunteer in your field you should.Also look for local healthcare events and network.

Kgotso, I understand how you feel. first I would suggest you take certification courses, join and register with an association related to your field like the medical rehabilitation association. These boast your career opportunities.
If you would like to travel outside your country I suggest you check Australia because Prosthesis and orthosis are on the occupation list for visas.

Aside from certificate courses, related association network and volunteer service to boast your career opportunities, I would suggest you dive into the technology aspect of your career to give yourself an added advantage and also improve your skill Incase you end up in a more technological countries who's ways or practice to medicine is by technology approach.
If you can learn just about everything there is to know about something and you have a skill for problem solving and you have great listening skills as well , you can become successful in Orthotists and prosthetists.
