Hi Sadie! Any business major would be extremely helpful as an entrepreneur. I would start by researching schools with an entrepreneurship major- Iowa State is one that does have that as an option so I'm sure others to do. If that does not work, anything like management, marketing, accounting, finance, etc would all be very beneficial for you as a self starter.

First, I'll suggest a sort of catch-all answer that has, IMO, the highest potential of enabling a career as an entrepreneur. Engineering. Knowing how stuff works and the principles of building things and various STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) will be good to be familiar with whether you're building stuff or managing folks who build stuff or planning how to provide services for people. And it helps in communication and sharing ideas with others, which are very valuable entrepreneurial skills.
Second, I'll go off the "majors" topic and get to the heart of entrepreneurship. You need to analyze society and people and your environment. But here's the cool part: It's not some sort of school science project. It's simply sitting back and watching what people do, listen to what they say, and in particular, what they complain about. The reason is that you are looking for a problem to solve. It may be big or little or known by the folks or they might be completely unaware of it, yet you see this glitch happening all the time. And you will research that problem and if, and how, other people have solved that problem or one similar to, or related to, it. That is your opportunity. And that's how you'll become an entrepreneur.
One thing the world doesn't run out of is problems to solve, right?

Hi Sadie,
I would highly recommend majoring in accounting and/or management if you want to be an entrepreneur. Any business degree will be helpful but I highly recommend accounting as understanding the finances is important in running your own business. If you are able to understand the finance side of the business it will be helpful in understanding all of the business.
A lot of schools have certificates or minors in entrepreneurship, which I think would be helpful with a business, accounting, or management degree.
I hope this helps!
