How hard would it be to get a job in auto body without schooling but have experience working in a body shop?
Is it necessary to have schooling if you want to find a job?

Hi Halle,
I would think it might vary depending on the owner, but I bet there's a good chance you could get hired to a body shop with your past experience. I would recommend driving around and visiting some of the shops near you and introducing yourself. Let them know what you experience is and that you are looking for a job. You can ask them if they have anything open and if so, what are the requirements. If they say you'll need schooling then they'll tell you those specifics.
One shop might want the schooling while another won't. So I would recommend visiting a few and making some in-person connections. I would think they'll appreciate the initiative.
I wish you the best of luck!
