Richard’s Answer

Nicholas I would focus on growing in sales psychology and marketing. Think benefit, feature, and what it means to potential clients. Be an entrepreneur requires imagination. Listen to podcast that involve owning your own business. Another sales tip would be to understand why people buy. Remember people buy based on emotion and justify with logic. Example let’s say you sell a training program for $40 dollars and offer a ton of benefits. If you don’t connect your product to a potential client’s emotional anchors the benefits mean nothing and you will always be stuck wondering why they won’t buy in.

Natalie’s Answer

Hi Nicholas,
Athletic trainers are well versed in the sciences including biology, chemistry and physics. Please review the information on http://www.nata.org/career-education as in order to be a licensed trainer you want to receive your education from an accredited provider. I would encourage you to look into athletic training classes through your local community college as some privately run programs (offered through your local gym) may be both expensive and not accredited. You may also want to look into schools that offer exercise physiology or performance studies. Most importantly, as a trainer you need to be a model of good health.

Good Luck!

Natalie
