Money is important, but not everything. In the early years, it feels like it is all about money.
First is not about how much money you make, but about how much money you can save, and how do you feel that you have a good balance between living the moment and preparing for the future.
One thing I see, once you are able to reach a financial stability in whatever professional career you seek, is to make sure that you make enough money to be happy where you work, and how that pays back the time you give to work, as a return on sustaining your happiness and desired lifestyle.
The big piece of the puzzle that has no magic spell, nor predefined script is called Resilience. Ability to adapt as a constant. Opportunities come and go.
Know what you don't like, as a way to narrow what you possibly may like
Set personal and professional goals, and continuously evaluate how much the effort in one of the two, has as an impact on the other side.

The best way to make a lot of money is to find something you are passionate about.... like REALLLY passionate because it will take a lot of hard work and dedication, and that usually only worth it if you LOVE what you are doing. I have to say, I appreciate the questions because I also wanted to be an Architect and make a lot of money (to support my family.) I found out that making big bucks as an Architect really only happens at the top of the field and my passion was more in helping people and using both my analytical and creative skills. If one of your key goals is to make a lot of money, it's also good to find out early how to manage fiances and personal wealth. I'm in the Tech Sales/Training field now and Solution Architects are a very in-demand and well paid role if that is of interest!
Find out what you are passionate about.

By being an architect alone, I am sure you will see a bunch of money coming your way. However, I think in order to realistically reach your goal of having a lot of money and not being able to worry financially, it is going to take a lot of hard work and also a bunch of smart financial decisions along the way. As the reply said before, I don't think anyone doesn't worry somewhat about their financial situation, but it doesn't always have to be that way if we spend our money on basic needs to live and save and/or invest it for the future. Be great at what you do and you will be rewarded!

Some Careers pay more than others, supply and demand is a factor here. More difficult Careers to enter, generally means there are fewer of those individuals and if there is more demand than supply, they will be paid more. As an individual, if you want to be an Architect (I'm assuming designing buildings), then to be the best paid Architect in your area (City, State, Country) then you should aim to become the best Architect in that area. An example that comes to mind would be Norman Foster, who is a world famous Architect and I'd imagine is handsomely rewarded for being so.
If financial gain is your goal, then think about setting up a Company in your chosen field (e.g. Architecture) and have Architects work for you, and again look to be the best Architectural firm in your area.
Risk vs reward:
Individual = less risk so less reward
Company = more risk so more reward
Lastly, don't choose a Career based on financial reward alone. You may end up being very unhappy.

Me too. I am an engineer and doing pretty well. There always seems to be money to do for what we need. I don't know anyone who doesn't worry about anything financial. That is an unrealistic goal. I think good architects may make good money. But, so does any professional who is good at what they do. I'd ask you to let me know if you find the answer. However, I'm really happy and that is more important to me than money
